UIDs for utils retrieval

Warren Gallin
A quick, and perhaps simple question.

With the removal of gi numbers from NCBI records, what numbers does one use as a a unique identifier in the -id flag to retrieve individual sequences?

Accession.version should ‘just work’ as a replacement (this worked in the past with plain accessions, but you would sometimes get wonky results).  I think original GIs will continue to work but will be missing in the output.
